Legal experts are making fun of Drake again as he requested the convo that lead the grammy to remove the intro speech...because you know, the gramy been doing this for years...they have always removed Kendrick and Adele intro speech weeks after the video upload :russ:

Their request should be granted to pause discovery while the motion is pending should be granted. But the number of discovery requests is pretty standard. However, they would likely reply that a lot of those requests are overly broad and not narrowly tailored to anything in the case. They would likely just object to those requests and not produce that information (I would not until the court makes me). Him wanting Kendrick’s contract is to try to make the case that they were incentivized to push the button in his favor and Drake will also use that in negotiation talks. I would object or provide a heavily redacted version that takes out all money terms.

Drake is trying to make discovery expansive and expensive so as to be overly costly and to make them settle. It’s really just a test of how much money UMG is willing to spend to defend this. That motion itself + the judicial notice request (what they filed preceding the motion so they they could use all those exhibits) + the research + whatever other discussions probably means they’ve already spent over a combined 100 hours on this case billing between 800 to 2000 per attorney per hour.
