Mr. Fuller did not say he has not heard of Tariq, Mr. Fuller said he has heard of Tariq. The person who said he never heard of Tariq, was Mr. Bobby the host.

Also, you can tell Mr. Bobby wrote that letter, because Tariq said before that Mr. Bobby take a long time to read letters and does not let Mr. Fuller talk (which is true). So, he wrote that letter thinking Mr. Fuller was going to go off code.

I feel like the people who automatically dismissed Umar's school and called his idea fraudulent, as much as I believe they wanted it to happen, are falling for the trap that most black people do: If a black man is trying to buck the dominant society and succeed on his own, our own people view it as a scam. We can't believe in our own capacity to prosper outside of the boundaries set by white daddy.


It's sad.

He went about this situation all wrong if he was legit trying to create a school. He didn't need millions of dollars in donations and the purchase of a college campus to get the ball rolling. There are plenty of buildings available for purchase that he could have used, shown results one what he was trying to accomplish, and then built from there. I'm not going to donate to someone asking for millions of dollars with no prior history or results, it just sounds like a scam. Start small, build up your credibility, and keep growing from there. When you have the results you have simething to show the people who doubt you. As of right now all we have are empty promises and Twitter beef. That gets him nothing.

Hell it didn't even need to be an actual school. He could have initially started after school programs in the inner city with the goal of providing supplemental educational programs for African Americans. I would have donated to that.
