London Underground was first operational in 1863. And It wasn't rebuilt after WW2. Expanded, sure, but not rebuilt.

Riding the NY subway at 4am isn't the flex you think it is, breh. :scusthov::pachaha:

getting where you need to be at any hour of the day for $2.75 is a flex.:manny:

theres literally hundreds of movies depicting nyc nightlife and public transportation cause it's symbiotic.

I learned from movies that there were places where the last bus/train came through and I was like "last bus?":dahell:

That could be true irrespective of the facts on the ground. I'm sure there are a lot of people in West Baltimore who don't want to move out but that doesn't mean it's paradise.

Whatever the fukk you wanna call it. Even the man selling peanuts in the street lets you pay with your phone, yet many places in this country still don't accept it. They're like a decade ahead of us

businesses have to pay for those transactions so I can see both sides of the argument. the guy selling peanuts definitely raised their prices when he had to pay a commission to their payment processor.

THread went way too long for what was simply just a dude being a hater.
His criticism like the amount of eateries :mjlol:
Thats just a cultural difference not a subpar life. and NYC is the wrong city to use as an example of bad infrastructure. Most residents don't even need to own a car because their is a subway stop at every corner.
I wish Ohio had that.

I've been to London....it ain't THAT much better than NYC. At least in NYC I can get any food I want in the world. :manny:

But infrastructure in America is shyt because our taxes subsidize big businesses. It's ass...but its the truth.

That's my point. Even their buses stopped taking cash in 2014. We still can't decide if we should swipe or insert :russ:

accepting coins is convenient when you aren't near a subway station or metrocard retailer and only need one fare. the surveillance state is really deep in london if you can't board a bus anonymously.:picard:

the MTA buses should continue accepting coins for as along as the government continues to make them. theres real privacy concerns with all these digital transactions.

The NYC subway’s new tap-to-pay system has a hidden cost — rider data

A new report outlines privacy risks for the MTA’s contactless payment system

In general, people from Western countries don’t really immigrate to other Western nations unless said nation has a specific draw for them, usually industry related eg. A frenchman wants to get into Big Tech so he’ll move to San Francisco from Paris, or a Floridian wants to get into high fashion so they move from Miami to Milan or Paris etc.

If you’re a London or NY born breh that’s just going about their day to day, there really isn’t an incentive to leave everything you know to go to another city that is very similar to what you already get at home.

Yeah exactly, people move because of money, not because they are so enamoured with their destination and they think it's so amazing and superior to their homeland.

This is true especially of immigrants from developing countries. Nobody gives a fukk about "the American/British/European/Australian way of life" :mjlol: they only move to a western country because you make like triple the salary for doing the same exact job in the US as you would doing it in India

This is what cacs and conservatives completely misunderstand about immigration as well. They get so wrapped up in their flag-waving and their "superior western civilisation" ideology that they overlook the basic truth which is that people follow the money. Immigrants have no love for our adopted homeland beyond a pay cheque. We're mercenaries, travelling the world ready to work for the highest bidder.

American cities are generally derelict, filthy, plagued with violence and filled with masses of homeless and drug addicts.

A third world country with a Gucii belt.
