These gangs in BC, Canada all come from middle class homes. They live on streets with houses worth up to 3.5 million but still want to be part of that lifestyle. A lot of them seem to be South Asians as well. They are very different from gangs in Toronto and London who usually come from council homes / low income housing complexes
