Yeah, I know but Bush 41 was viewed as an slightly out-of-touch but average President and isn't that also the general consensus of John Major's premiership? I could be wrong. Also, just like how Bush 41's presidency came in-between 2 more well-known presidents who defined a generation so did Major's premiership.
Major was preceded by Thatcher (polarizing conservative icon) and succeeded by Blair (polarizing neoliberal/centrist icon). Bush 41 was preceded by Reagan (polarizing conservative icon) and succeeded by Bill Clinton (polarizing neoliberal/centrist icon).
