Woodley said he went into deep therapy and counseling after the Usman fight, so I was hoping he wouldn’t be in freeze mode like this. But you’re right it’s 100% some mental shyt.


he demonstrably has more success when he's a more aggressive fighter but he keeps clamming up during some fights and doesn't really do much, even if he's losing. there's a clear pattern.

so yeah, i think it's a mental thing too. it's gotta be.

There were several moments for him to do so in this fight also. Gilbert would miss kicks and Tyron would just look at him and let him reset and start back putting together whatever offense he wanted to. Dude literally went 1:30 to 2 minute stretches without throwing anything or giving Gilbert anything to think about. It was so frustrating to watch, man.

I think he really just doesn’t want to risk any more serious damage or knockouts. He’s had a great career, he should retire.
