Breh this sh1t was nuts. Mad brawls in the stands, one dude threw a chair. More fights in the audience than in the octagon tonight. Security people we’re quitting on the spot. I doubt UFC ever comes back here.

Saw Gilbert Melendez and Jake Shields just now at the bar, real down the earth dudes

Just watched

-how crap is cummins? He made anderson look like cain valasquez..
-the end to the chagas/bahadurzada fight :russ:
-end to the simon/dvalishvilu fight:dwillhuh:"want to see a dead body"
-never heard of a dan hooker but its always a pleasure to see jim miller lose brutally:jawalrus:
-aljamain sterling :russell:
-David branch:salute:got to respekt the journeyman
-The main event was :whew:everyone holds their hat on what khabib did to barboza and MJ but despite all his dominance his g&p never looked as vicious as lee's last night. That was savage and fuk the fans.

Has there ever been a situation like that where the crowd are not only booing transitions but shouting "stand them up" during ground and pound? Never!! not with couture, not hughes, not fitch, not lesnar or gsp who stall like you wouldnt believe have fans ever shown that level of disrespect, what a disgrace. So glad the ref held his bottle and wasnt manipulated. No one is going to remember the weight miss so lee needs to build off this. This was entertaining as hell...

Surprisingly great show...

I wish he did, he would have actually shown up to the fight and I think stylistically he's a good matchup for Khabib. I don't think Khabib is manhandling him in wrestling like he does to these other dudes.
:mjlol:

if he didn't have staph he beats ferg.
hell he was beating him with the staph he just had to be more conservative in the 3rd but he got careless probably due to fatigue

he's the future champ. beats khabib.
:whoa:
:dwillhuh: why didn't they have Jimmy Smith in the commentary?
The duo they have do DWTNCS and have good chemistry. It was a fight night no need for a 3 man booth (which personally I hate)
:mjcry:

Lee vs Poirier coming soon.
Poirier vs khabib/lee would just be lamb to the slaughter but given the timing and his streak its his time:ld:

Lee delivered on the potential we all knew he has!

To me easily the most entertaining dude in the UFC in interviews and as far as his confidence level (only Connor more cocky)

He executed the game plan to perfection in the first 2 rounds but was playing with fire in the 3-4-5 rounds standing with Junior.

I was impressed with how aggressive he was when he mounted Junior and expected a stoppage at one point in round 2.

He did amazing to fight through that insane head kick to get a take down.

Ultimately to me he showed one thing: he’s the next dude. I respect Poirier a lot, but this was a very dominant performance by Lee and -assuming Connor will lose his license for minimum 1 year- should fight for the title.

Also, the UFC understands that Lee’s personality and trash talking will lead to a way more exciting, aggressive build up with crazy interviews and press conferences than with Poirier.

Now of course the UFC can totally screw this up by booking Poirier-Lee for the Interim championship with the excuse that Khabib is on ramadan which is bs, they’d just want to know the outcome of Connor’s court date in June.

If Lee can keep up this level of physical stamina AND continue to throw bombs after the 2nd round, I think Lee can be the first to burst Khabib’s bubble - also Lee’s the ONLY on to call out Khabib for years now.

Khabib is a beast though when he’s 100% locked in (he won against Iaquinta before the fight started and was coasting to a win)

Still: Lee has everything to be a future champion. It comes down to

-will he make weight?
-will he be the first to beat up Khabib and how would Khabib deal with that? Khabib is tough so probably he would last
-how good is Lee’s takedown defense and how good is he off his back and could he defend a rear naked?

If he can handle all this... Gold goes to Motown

Props to he homie Kevin Lee!

And respect to Barboza, jogging back to his corner after being lit up..

:salute:

Lee beat down Edson as bad as I thought he would :manny:
I think Dustin should still get the next shot with how the division currently is. Lee missed weight and should need to fight one more time cause of that. People will point out Romero but that fight was on short notice halfway across the world. Not the same situation

Crowd definitely chanted "stand them up" after Lesnar took Mir down in round 2 at UFC 100. Brock KO'd Mir like 30 seconds later too lol

thats the only thing that worrys me, he made a good account of himself in this fight but i am not sold he is all there mentally. Like on mma hour and in interviews hes cheesing when asked about his weight on some "i aint even worried i got this" then he goes and misses. In the ferg fight he was actually winning then just got sloppy, was that a mistake due to fatigue or was he looking for a way out due to fatigue? Almost in tears when ferg wouldnt give him eye contact. No one is ever going to match khabib in mental toughness, that might spell the result right there.
