This sounds like a clear cry for help from someone who wanted to get caught.
I, like others commenting on both threads, thought this was old news because CLEARLY Jones wouldn't be stupid enough to do this again, and during a pandemic at that. But here we are, Jones arrested for yet another DWI. But this one doesn't involve the idiocy of all his other transgressions, nor the logical rationale behind the actions (yes, even the one where he crashed his car with a side chick in the passenger seat, and even the one where he crashed into a pregnant woman's car, fled the scene, then came back for his weed and fled the scene again). It's a guy getting caught drinking in his car, blatantly telling the police he was committing a DWI and was going to commit DWI again, and lying to the police about his handgun (which he was allegedly shooting for no reason). There's no real rhyme or reason for him to do that.
That sounds to me like a guy who needs some therapy to sort his head out, because something's going on. Doesn't need to be fighting, probably needs to get away from Albuquerque and all of his influences in that city, and definitely needs to seek real help. This is, what, the fourth or fifth time he's gotten caught like this? And it's seems as if he blatantly wanted the police to find him? Throwing the book at Jones might work, but I don't think that's actually going to solve whatever's eating at him, whether it be boredom from success, trying to live out his second childhood (remember, he became a father at a very young age, probably long before he was ever prepared to do such a thing), or whatever.
fukk me for doing armchair psychology, but if he had a real support system, they'd put anything related to fighting on hold immediately and get this guy into treatment as soon as possible. But we'll probably see nothing happen to Jones AGAIN and wait with bated breath for his next screwup or worse.
