How many times have the UFC tried to do Khabib/Ferguson. Seems like that fight will never happen.
4 times as of now. Each guy pulled out twice so far.

ferguson gonna find dana.... how is not deserving of a shot after all these wins

they did this same shyt to gegard

This shyt with Tony is truly insane. Eddie Alvarez got a title shot off 2 split decisions.

Tony hasn't lost in over 7 years now. He's on a 12 fight win streak with 10 of those coming via stoppage. He's got wins in all areas of the game. TKOs KOs.. Submissions from the top, back, bottom, and even the feet. Doctor stoppages. You name it, he can win with it. He's the only fighter with 3 Darce choke finishes in the UFC. He's the 1st fighter to win a title fight (interim) with a submission from full guard since Ben Henderson in 2013. The the only fighter to win TUF with all T/KOs in the process. His only UFC loss was a split decision where he had a broken arm.

I think they said only 3 or 4 people ever in the UFC have winning streaks longer than him and all were reigning champions well before the number Tony is at now (12). Tony has a legit claim to be a top 3-5 155er of all time and he's never even fought for the undisputed title.

:mindblown:

He has to face Khabib. We have to see that shyt happen. They're a level above every other 155er.

Dana really hates Ferguson, he was beating the shyt outta Cowboy before the stoppage

fukk that “run it back” shyt.

If they talking MONEY.

Just go ahead and put Tony in there vs the champ
This is the real deal on that rematch. Talks of it will die down by this time tomorrow.

I've been a Cowboy fan forever. Love that dude. :dame: But the God's honest truth is that even though Tony offered and Dana mentioned it, Cowboy doesn't want a rematch. He's not going to ask for it and if they offer it to him I don't think he'll want to do it. Cowboy doesn't wanna go through that again. He's having a good run in the later stages of his career...ain't no point in getting busted the fukk up and cut the fukk up again, just to lose 2 fights back to back to a guy that is (along with Khabib) clearly a level above everyone at 155.

There are much smarter fights for Cowboy to take at this point in his career. He don't wanna run that shyt back at all.

Dana has a golden ticket with Cejudo, he would have to be an idiot to screw this up. It’s time for him to earn his money as a promoter and make Cejudo a star.

He should easily be able to become the Mexican star they wanted Cain to be.
He’s a trilingual Olympic gold medalist that can bring in the Latino market and has a W over a p4p GOAT. But we already know what’s up with Dana :manny:

Cejudo is easily the most marketable of the lower weights atm. Has a pedigree you can't deny.

Dana is proving to be a bit fiscally retarded tho as of late. It's becoming pretty evident how much of this empire was built by fertitta.

Cejudo proved he’s one of the best if not the best BW in MMA. He adjusted incredibly well in that 2nd round and pushed the pace on Moraes. Finished TJ and now Marlon.

Eye didn’t belong in that cage with Valentina, shyt I don’t think any 125 women belong in their with her. She’s a fukkin monster, that was one of the brutal head kick KO’s I’ve ever seen. She’s a special fighter.

Ferguson was on his way to victory anyway but that was a rookie mistake from Cowboy. Not blowing your nose when your eye is swelling is day one shyt. Still can’t shake choking in title fights or on the verge of a title fight.

Rematched him for what? Pettis quit cuz the pressure broke him, claiming he broke his hand when it came out later it wasn't broke(he pulled the same shyt in the Holloway fight). You be posting some silly ass takes.
No one that's ever fought Tony wants to fight him again except for maybe Kevin Lee.

I re-watched the Tony/Cowboy fight today and went down an interesting rabbit hole.

A lot of Cowboy's shots in round 1 were glancing blows or landed on Tony's shoulders. I looked up his striking defense percentage and it's 68% which is pretty high among the UFC roster. I went back and skimmed some fights on Fight Pass and I think we all think Tony gets hit more than he actually does...and for good reason. We've seen guys like Pettis and Lando crack him and drop him. Tony does leave his chin up, take some shots he probably shouldn't take, and as a result I think we all believe he gets hit cleanly more than he does.

But reviewing some tape yesterday I really think he gets hit cleanly way less than most people think.

Ferg beat his ass like he stole something, I don't see how they have unfinished business or how aa rematch is supposed to turn out any better for Cowboy

Honestly I may have to stay away from MMA media until this 155 business is squared away. I shouldn't be this invested but it's a damn travesty to the integrity of the sport that Tony has maybe 50/50 odds of getting a title shot. I been an MMA fan since 2000. I've always understood there's an element of MMA that's about making money above just matchmaking based on merit and who the legitimate #1 contenders are. I've even been somewhat okay with some superstars slowing down some divisions (to an extent). But this shyt with Conor is enough. Dude hasn't won a fight in 3 years, has shown us nothing since the last Khabib fight and yet wants an immediate rematch. I've also heard Khabib talk about fighting for his legacy, yet I've heard rumors he wants to fight GSP and retire if he beats Dustin Poirier. At some point meritocracy has to mean something.

The last time Tony lost a fight women hadn't fought yet in the UFC, GSP and Silva were reigning champs, and Cejudo and Usman had ZERO pro fights.

Enough is enough. Give Tony his fukking shot already. Imagine this guy starts to get into the teens winning streak numbers without a unified title shot.
