Not really sure I want to see Rose vs Andrade. Doesn't look like she's changed too much from the woman who got schooled by Joanna a while back, and that's (probably) not going to get it done vs. Rose either.

But the fact is: the matchmakers and Dana pay A LOT of attention to this and to Twitter call outs. Many fights have been set up purely because of a call out and the public’s hungry reaction to this..

I think a worse answer is “Whoever the UFC puts in front of me” or “I spent 2 months away from home, I just want to first go back and chill with my people”. Both answers are perfectly fine in the real world, but in the ‘sell fights/reputation/hype’ it sounds boring and doesn’t lead to a bigger fight as fast..

I get WHY they're doing it, sure. And when it's legit and/or feels legit, then it absolutely adds a lot to the fights. But most of the time it's blatantly manufactured and fraudulent looking, and does nothing but make the UFC's matchmaking look ad hoc and contrived.

Honestly, it says a lot about how little imagination and direction the UFC's matchmakers have that they need to rely on this nonsense to drum up interest in their matches and PPVs. You'd think they would have a handle on proper fight promotion by now.
