Damn.. this looks so bad. It's not for a lack of trying, he definitely tried.

They seriously need to re-think weight-cuts:

-more divisions
-someone suggested that fighters should have a max 10 pound cut vs their natural weight

This is so unhealthy, especially as fighters get older

They should not wait until someone gets seriously hurt to finally make changes, this also hurts their business but actually thinking about it this is not JUST Yoel's fault even though he made a mistake in his preparation getting nutritionists involved too late

Naw no divisions. Dudes just need to stop bullshytting and fight at a weight they can reasonably cut too. Romero has fought at 205 before so he can do it again. IDK why these dudes think they are too small. RDA and KG are both in title/on the verge of title fights. It’s especially interesting that Romero isn’t carrying around high body fat. He should be able to shed water weight easily from his muscles

Several fighters have requested more divisions though (Kevin Lee for instance). They have this 'too small for the division above their fight and too big too cut down to their fight weight' issue. That said: you're right, dudes need to be realistic about this now. If he's fought at 205.. why is he dropping 30 pounds to be 185?? I get it when fighters do it to go up (McGregor 145-155-170) but the other way around is tough af. Gastellum managed to learn how to cut properly without hurting himself, I don't get why someone like Romero doesn't reach out for help and information way earlier either to a fighter to be hooked up with a nutritionist or to a nutritionist directly or the nutritionists at the Performance Center. Breh just blew this Main Event up

Lmao @ hiring a team for your weight cut 3 days before the weigh ins, these MMA nikkas are clowns. Dudes are trying to lose 20+ all in one week instead of dieting and cutting the whole camp so you don't have much to lose come fight week, their bodies are gonna be a wreck in retirement.

There's too much bro science in MMA. But these early weigh in rules aren't great either. 0.2 lbs over, who gives a shyt...just let them fight for the title

You got heavyweight fights where people overweigh the next guy by like 25 lbs, just let them fight. Also,

So they stopped his weight cut half way through even though the doctor said it was okay, then he just sat there and let him cut again later until the 2 hour limit? These commissions are dumb as shyt. Bring back the roids and the afternoon weigh-ins already

Wow :gucci:

If you walk around at 200lbs+but you want to fight at 185... well you either gotta be more disciplined to where your walk-around weight is closer to that fight weight, or like others have said you gotta pick a different weight class, even if that means man-up to 205.

It's not always fun to have to eat healthy, watch your carbs/calories, limit your desserts, and do bare minimal cardio weekly, but that's what it is unless your fortunate enough to not be a tweener

Trick, this is sort of off topic, but after what happened in penningtons corner, forcing her back out there, why does it feel like MMA's corners/team seem less proffesional than pro boxers. i mean, missing weight in boxing is HUGE and rarely happens, but it happens in UFC all the time.

i feel like these teams are just not as good as what you get when you hire teams like this in boxing. also alot of MMA corners are garbage and dont give very good advice am i trippin here or do you also see this
