Aldo had to have suffered some gruesome knee/ankle injury from throwing kicks while sparring that never got disclosed to the public these past two years, there's zero reason why he shouldn't have chopped down that lead leg Max was leaving out in orthodox stance for easy picking all night. The "I didn't want to get taken down" excuse for the Frankie fight was BS, Aldo threw him around like a child in that last fight, Frankie wouldn't be able to get him down for more than 2 secs. All the power in that 1-2 that dropped him woulda been sapped if he had landed even a handful of kicks. Dude threw like literally 100 of them way back in that WEC Faber fight, now he hasn't thrown a single one in his past 3 fights. Makes no sense barring injury.
