Uhm actually you do, especially if you're competing at the professional level. They call fighting "kinetic chess" for a reason. There is a lot of REPETITION and muscle memory, but not rehearsal. You're thinking of shyt with preconceived bs scenarios that often don't play out in real, dynamic situations such as strip mall mcdojo karate or some shyt. That's rehearsal. shyt like Boxing and Jiu Jitsu, however, regularly place practicioners in live dynamic scenarios such as rolling and sparring where you take all that you've learned through repetition and apply it in live combat. The repetition merely sharpens the technique, the live combat tests how you will physically and mentally perform in a fight as you are putting all that you've learned together. That definitely takes intelligence, and when you're competing amongst the best in the world like Nate in the UFC, you are definitely intelligent. You go into a fight trying to use "rehearsed" shyt and you will get your ass whooped. Fights are more mental than physical, this is why they have something called "fight IQ".
