Nah. It’s just the optics.
How can you preach being a family as a team, saying you’re teaching young men how to be great fathers and husbands, etc when you aren’t married?
Not saying it’s right, but that’s just the reasoning I’ve heard.

Quite possibly but also Chip didn’t have a big time job until he was OC at Oregon. Upon doing my googles I see he has some kind of significant other.
The guy I’m referring to doesn’t and is on the younger side plus he has some “factors” that make him questionable to schools. But his name has consistently comes up for HC jobs the last 3 years. He’ll get a shot at a bigger job after this year and might get his shot as HC in 2026 if he plays his cards right
