What can Microsoft do with them that they don’t already get? All the Ubisoft games are coming to the service over time.

Take them off the streets. Show them how to get this money properly. Keep them out of trouble. Pimp shyt basically.

Eventually Ubisoft will get better and more ppl would flock to GP. Its not really a loss because Ubisoft out here selling itself for a few billion.

That's not really the same thing but I can see why Ubisoft thinks its a better idea. Its probably impossible at this point to make a high-budget military themed shooter better than COD, and The Division would be a more unique IP in this whole space (in comparison to Fortnite, Apex, Warzone, PUBG, etc). The whole near-future post apocalyptic world is generally a more interesting setting for most people.

I imagine a Ghost Recon BR would be a a semi-realistic tactical TPS with vehicles, basically Wildlands / Breakpoint but with x number of players fighting each other. With light mil-sim mechanics, it could be a good slower paced alternative to Warzone.

One thing I'm skeptical about is how TPS would work in a more competitive BR with low TTK, because TPS fundamentally hurts competition with how you can see around corners without exposing yourself. Thats a big reason why TPS games arent big in the competitive space. And you need to make the competitive space happy if you want your multiplayer shooter to survive these days.

Looks like they’re about to beat Naughty Dog to the punch

Doubt it. Factions 2 is next year. This is still unannounced.

Plus this is apparently a BR. Everything we hear about Factions 2 makes it sound like a DMZ game instead of a traditional BR, with the rumors of the whole economy system and PVE.

They could have been releasing Factions 3 right now if they weren’t busy exploiting their fans with 9 the last of us remasters.

You're forgetting all of the money is going to Jim Ryan.

That's the whole reason they made this game. So they can extract money from PS fans to finance Factions 2 development.
