The Chiefs were able to be more agressive because of the circumstances. Imagine if the 49ers were forced to go for it on 4th in it instead of take the points. It gave the chiefs a slight advantage because their playcalling was catered to the fact that they knew they had 4 downs to get a first to continue the drive. They nickeled and dimes their way all the way down the field
