Biden barely beat Trump? :skip:

Yes, the entire race came down to 10,000 votes in Arizona (0.31%), 11,000 votes in Georgia (0.24%), and 20,000 votes in Wisconsin (0.63%). It was one of the closest presidential races in history.

Remember he barely beat Hillary Clinton. :pachaha:

Look, you called Trump over Clinton "barely" yet Trump won by 10,000 in Michigan, 22,000 in Wisconsin, and 44,000 in Pennsylvania.

Meaning that Clinton would have needed to flip twice as many votes to beat Trump as Trump would have needed to beat Biden.

My point is your premise was wrong. The race is only close if we pay attention to the electoral college.

Breh, the Electoral College IS what decides the presidency. You better pay attention to it. :dahell:

Re-read his initial post. The person I was responding to said it was a close race and responded to another poster telling that poster to not mention the electoral college as for as why it wasn’t close. The entire premise of his argument was wrong, because it was only a close race because of the electoral college. So his whole point about not mentioning the electoral college didn’t support his own argument.

How did you cut out the sentence before in the quote where I explain why I’m making the statement about the electoral college?

You misunderstood him - he's saying not to pay attention to the #'s in the electoral college, you have to pay attention to the vote margin that gained those numbers.

Saying that Biden won 306 to 232, or that Trump won 304 to 227, does not mean the race wasn't close. Trump always claims he won 2016 in a landslide using that distorted criteria.

While Biden won the electoral college by 74 votes, the three states he needed to get that margin were only won by 10k, 12k, and 20k votes. That's what makes it such a close election. 306 to 232 means very little if the votes that created that margin were super thin.

I don't pay much attention to TYT, but it seems like he moves stupid in a lot of ways. Which is fascinating considering how much success they've had in building their platform.

There is absolutely zero chance this shyt goes anywhere. I don't even know who he thinks his base is.

I never said it wasn’t a close election. He said don’t cite the electoral college as for why it wasn’t a close election. I said the election was only close because of the electoral college.

Slight rephrase: in no rational place should 2020 have been a close election, based on total votes. But was close because of electoral college. But that’s a whole other argument how Biden’s win was covered as some super tight win, and the media didn’t treat trump the same after losing the popular vote and winning swing states by small margins.
