I don't see how it is misinformation. They didn't investigate the story to even find out if it was or not. It was just taken down without explanation or an inconsistent one.

If they did investigate it was a very short investigation. They banned it the same day it came out. And Facebook banned the story while they investigate. So they admitted they had not done so as of yet.
