I remember having convos wit my man on this topic. I told him that even tho America has always stole our music and culture and watered it down for mass consumption that I didn’t think they could do it with hiphop. The anger, the music, the mighty drum from Africa was too strong I said. I never thought this would happen. But I was wrong. We gave em Rock n Roll, Jazz on a sliver platter and now we givin them hiphop. Rinse, wash, repeat the vicious cycle continues..

I said this years ago, hip-hop was officially neutered in the 2000's. It was once a potent art form for change, now it's just a commercial endeavor and advertisement of capitalism.
They made a joke out of it, notice how dancing got more and more prominent over the last decade. Step Up and all that stuff, they took the most weak powerless part of the culture and made it the dominant feature..
