He's not wrong. Rashad Evans one of the most humblest fighters for years, and he was by far one of the most hated. Was labeled as "cocky and arrogant".

They liked Rampage because he's "funny". He made em laugh like the minstrel shows. Jon jones was labeled a snitch, cocky, arrogant, fake, cheater, adulterer, etc PRIOR to his issues outside the cage. Can't forget about DC either. Guillard was called arrogant and a cokehead. Keep in mind that mmas most popular fighter today is the most "arrogant" fighter in mma history

Fact is most of what you see on any MMA media is all a facade and done to market/promote fighters. Everything is contrived horseshyt. Woodley can feel however he wants but when he's bytching about people not caring about Mighty Mouse, guess what, people want to see outspoken, flashy, fights.

He fights in a division the casual fans don't care about, he's a world class wrestler and not an knockout artist, and he's your typical lives, breathes, trains type of persona. Hardcore MMA fans will always rock with that, but the typical retard that can only name Conor McGregor and Chuck Liddell as their favorite UFC fighters doesn't give a fukk about that. They want entertainment and flash, and McGregor is basically a WWE superstar that throw hands and roll on the ground at a high level. That's why he's popular.

Tyron isn't wrong, he's what you should want in a champion. Clean cut, well dressed, well spoken family man that has a crowd pleasing style and killer instinct.

It's been that way for a while tho with black fighters vs their counterparts in the UFC


The sport has a VERY arbitrary ranking system, Woodley SHOULD be trying to cash out since there's no clear paths to anything and no guarantees but dummies on sherdog/twitter are mad that he's vocal about it.

Nick Diaz is a popular fighter but he rarely did a promo for the UFC where he wasn't asking for more $$$ or big fights. Not a peep tho


Rampage came into the UFC with the look and personality of a potential crossover star but when he walked through Chuck with that beautiful hook counter for the belt (whom he'd already given the instrumentals in pride) he was immediately disliked


Rashad was disliked pretty much until he fought Jones

Mighty Mouse doesn't get his due love yet he has an amazing highlight reel of not getting hit and flashy finishes but Dom Cruz whom I actually like a lot gets praised for not getting hit (until his last fight) yet rarely finishes.

DC, clean cut dude was made a complete villain against Jones. The same Jones certain folks wanted thrown out of the sport


Jones gets loved and hated depending on what side of the bed people wake up on.

Anderson had to actually get old against Chris Weidman (they needed to see him "humbled") before he started to get love from the UFC fanbase.

MM isnt promoted nowhere near as much as conor. Ufc hype machine plays a huge role in how the fighters are accepted.
