Let me back it up because I know you're one of the slower nikkas on here.

The Rock isn't as good of an actor as you think he is. Being objective about it, his movies/status in Hollywood didn't really pop off until F&F. You can get mad at that all you want, but that's only because you know it's the truth.

Matter of fact, people know this...they just cling onto the success he has because there's very little else to talk about. I personally couldn't care less because the nikka had money before he started acting full time.

You're doing nothing in here but posting movies people don't even fukk with because they're mediocre. All you're really doing is proving how people clung onto his relative overnight success.

Is that clear enough for you?

none of this negated what i said...look at the franchise after the rock joined. he catapulted it to another level..

you really think hollywood execs would disagree with that assessment? :jbhmm:
I think Justin Lin changing the direction of the franchise took it to another level more than The Rock to be honest

No he did not...

What catapulted Fast and the Furious to another level was Chinese motherfukkers watching the movie series....and Paul Walker dying....

I mean fukking Wiz Khalifa got the biggest song of his career with Paul Walker dying....

You really gonna think an actor that was destined to making Direct to DvD action movies after the failures of his previous movies made Fast and the Furious...franchise hit the billion dollar mark?

Let's be real...Fast and the Furious made the Rock's career...not the other way around...

stopped reading right here. you're the only person in here talking about "good actor"

you do realize we're talking about FAST AND FURIOUS - there's no oscar nominated actors carrying that franchise (meaning the core actors, not the guest stars like charlize theron)

now go click your little hentai tentacle porn tab up there and leave this discussion to us normal people

I can't keep repeating myself in here...the rock joined that franchise and did 2 whole movies with paul walker

both of those did significantly better than previous versions of the series

true enough writing and directing played a part in that...but you think somebody else could've played HOBBS and still pulled that off?

again - they gave him a spin off for a reason.

The facts are Rock's involvement helped breathe new life into the series. I wont attribute it all to him because its silly but he was a nice part of it.

Alot of nikkas in here are missing the point and not reading shyt at all though. People are really siting up here saying Rock was a c level or direct to dvd actor prior to the fast series. Its pretty comical. No one is saying he was super huge back then and was a huge star back then like he is now. He just wasnt some bottom of the barrel actor. Scorpion King was a decent first role. Rundown is regarded as a cult classic. Some say the same for Walking Tall. Far as acting skills, His chops in Be Cool, Other Guys, Gridiron Gang are regarded pretty well. Gameplan was his best kid movie. Everything else were duds. Now out of all that, still alot of those movies did pretty well in the BO and were all theatrical releases. Rock at that time was still breaking in and staying afloat as a decent star who came from the looked down world of pro wrestling.

Then fast 5 happened as well as a return to wrestling. Which catapulted him to where he is now. Dude's character work in Pain and Gain, Moana, Fast Series, Central Intelligence after all that were great. I get its all subjective but Rock is a decent actor/action star with a ton of likable qualities and charisma. All that = $$$ and success and thats his recipe.

What does Paul Walker have to do with me saying the reason the franchise got on an uptick was Justin Lin?
I literally said the first movie of the series that broke the billion dollar barrier was 7 and a lot of that was due to the death of Walker.
If you really want to talk first movie without Walker with Rock getting a bigger role, made less than the last movie with walker.

They are giving The Rock a spinoff beause unlike the others in the core cast who most likely only negotiate as a group, The Rock was begging and ready and willing to be the studio's guy. shyt really makes all the grandstanding he was doing online last movie look funny in the light.

1) i quoted somebody else other than you that brought up paul walker being the reason for the fast and furious's uptick - not realizing that the franchise was headed in that direction 2 movies before his death.

2) All i said was that they gave the rock a spin off for a reason - you can pontificate all day long as to what that is :hubie:

I don't think some of you all realize what is going on.
The Rock is going "house" on the OG series and the studio is using him to split the main group up and probably fukk with their group pay.
nikka is a scab

F&F should've been done after 4. Everything after has been overkill.

Tyrese needs to go on ahead & find some work, and stop acting like a scorned female.

Bruh....

Bruh...

Before the shytty Tokyo Drift movie...Fast and Furious was on it's way to push over a quarter billion. The second Fast and the Furious movie actually did better than the first with Vin Diesel and all they did was put in another nikka with muscles, crossover appeal and some charisma...aka Tyrese in Vin Diesel's role.

You really think an actor that was pushed by the industry, given multiple opportunities to be a commercial star...and failed over and over and over again....is going to make a franchise that grossed over a quarter billion with their 4th movie? A franchise was monetarily getting better and better with each entry...

Anybody could've played Hobbs...you really acting like the Rock is the only muscle bound dude that can feign charisma...if they can replace Vin Diesel and be perfectly fine...what makes you think the Rock made the franchise even better....

If the 4th movie did 365 million...you really think the Rock adds another 300 million in Fast Five when he can't even star in his movie and make it a success...come on now

Thats your opinion, I thought it was garbage since the first one.
That said if you got a crew and cast that has been together for years and negotiates as a group, and you got one person who is newish trying to go out on their own, I'm gonna side with the group over the individual
