Again I liked all the Hood coming of age movies but damn they all said the same thing over and over Just put the guns down and it's candy cookies and rainbows.
The best thing about Menace was it showed how little things had consequences. Caine wasn't no killer he barely hung with the gang. He fukked and ducked shorty and beat up her cousin so they killed him.
If Furious Styles came in and said Put the Guns down when Caine was stomping dude out he still would've gotten hit.
Again good movies but looking back the message was overwhelming.
Needless to say the role women played never was examined and that's why There wasn't no positive Black role models in these movies
