As a LSU fan this is disheartening, but tbh he needed LSU more than LSU needed him. LSU got a 4-star recruit that they can plug into his spot, Mathieu missed his chance at a very good oppurtunity.

I dont think lsu will miss him too much defensively, last year he made his biggest contribution on special teams, so if lsu can find another special teams guy they wont miss a beat. technically he didnt start he was a nickel back and his success was based on how good the others around him was.
