:francis: no BOAN would have made cacs mad, this makes them laugh at us.

Y'all worry to much about what "cacs" think... It made more money than a Tom Cruise movie and was the #1 movie... Who cares if they are laughing or not

I don't like Tyler Perry movies personally, but obviously there are ALOT of people who enjoy them. It's just makes me cringe whenever black people worry about what "White people" are saying about us..

I am hearing this won again at the box office for the weekend. Don't mess with his films too much. But you have to admit he knows his target market and they are loyal to him. If TP was smart he would help other black movies get made from other black writers, directors etc. Then maybe his demographic will support movies non Tyler Perry.

Yep #1 again.

'Inferno' Has a Meltdown, 'Madea' is #1 Again & 'Doctor Strange' Opens with $86M Overseas - Box Office Mojo

Sony's Inferno experienced an opening weekend meltdown as the third film in the Robert Langdon series fell $10 million shy of expectations. As a result, and thanks to a strong second weekend hold, Tyler Perry's Boo! A Madea Halloween scored a second weekend atop the box office, dropping just 41% from its opening weekend. Meanwhile, Disney and Marvel's Doctor Strange stormed the international box office. The latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe opened in approximately half the overseas markets where it brought in an estimated $86 million ahead of its domestic release next weekend.

With an estimated $16.67 million Boo! A Madea Halloween took the #1 spot at the weekend box office domestically for a second week in a row. The film's cume has now grown to $52 million as it fell just 41% in its second weekend, a spectacular performance following the film's $28.5 million opening last weekend.

Saw this movie last night. Quite surprised the whole theater was a mixed race crowd. Whites, hispanics, blacks were all up in there. So his success should not be a racial issue. People just like his movies in general.
His movies always brought a mixed audience.

20 million budget? :duck:

i believe the number...although i havent seen the movie, he pretty much made this as a 'why the hell not' cause of the chris rock joke in top 5....so for a throwaway/not supposed to even happen type project, no need to break the bank....besides, these movies dont need huge budgets...the most special effects in them be him in drag lol....

Tyler perry announces new film, everyone calls him a c00n.

Movie is successful

Now he's black excellence.

:dead:

never understand the c00n talk when it comes to him/his movies, he's always been black excellence when you take into account all the shyt he does....sure, his movies can be over the top with the religious aspect, but he's catering to his audience, so it's understandable...and even then, he's cut back on that...
