These two renewals in particular were probably gonna happen either way, but animation is really winning during this pandemic.
Bubble and pandemic proof content
Man, this sucks, but at some point, taking 2-3 years off to come back with 8-10 episodes is going to catch up with you.
I saw it mentioned somewhere that this may have been more of a business decision, since Venture Bros is streaming on Hulu until 2022, and they didn't want to drive viewers there while they were footing the bill, and couldn't get the rights back for a while.
Considering that Adult Swim said they're looking for other options to get their content out somehow (probably like a set of HBO Max specials like they're doing with Adventure Time), that sound like maybe it's kind've true? Sucks either way.
For as amazing as the Venture Bros was it was a niche show and I honestly thing Rick and Morty took most of the audience anyway. Hell of a run and a top 5 of all time Adult Swim show.
Pretty much spot-on
The Friends with Benefits line had my It's crazy how many people stan that corny ass show.
The only positive thing that show gave us was more Jessica Lucas
EDIT: Damn I thought you were talking about the actual show Friends with Benefits, not the joke from the video
