On the real, I've seen about 5-6 Bulls games so far, and I'm not gonna say Boylen is blameless in this situation. I'm not gonna say LaVine doesn't work hard. I've never questioned his work ethic. He plays so fukking dumb on defense, I mean making mistakes he made when he started 6 years ago. What was he preaching all camp? About his defense and getting better and doing what he has to do to make that catch up to his offense. I've seen him flat out not know where to be. He looks like a shytty cornerback when the ball is in the air and he's 5 yards away from where he was supposed to be. You know how lost you'd look if you walked in on a choreography session and were expected to know the moves? That's how LaVine looks on defense. It's not laziness. It's stupidity and lack of IQ on that end. I may be giving Boylen too much credit on this and we'll see if anything changes, but I guess he figured "if I can yank LaVine, I can yank anyone."
The disappointment on the Bulls so far is on 2 people: the coach and on Markannen (specifically Markannen because they're tailoring the offense to something he should be loving and he's failing miserably at it.) Zach's failure on defense is on Zach. He's not a baby anymore. The Bulls clearly aren't gonna coddle him, so he's gonna have to do better cuz the coach ain't looking at him the way other teams view their main guys.
