Bulls fans, what do y’all need to do to have a future title contending core?

Do you guys need to tank for a Star; trade for a star, or do the Bulls already have a good core as is?

We are done tanking. They need to add a superstar to ever compete for a title, we likely don’t have one on the roster yet, but we have a pretty dope young core now. It’ll never happen, but man this team would be perfect for Giannis, better than whatever the Bucks are building around him

Coby, Zach, Giannis, Lauri, Wendell/Gafford

Short answer is lavine and lauri need to turn into superstars the next couple years. There is potential in the roster I dont see the superstar yet though.

I think the realistic means is lavine and lauri look like at least fringe all stars and carry us to a 7th 8th seed in the playoffs. Pray to all hell the lakers dont work out and try to clear cap space to sign 2 major free agents particularly giannis and anthony davis to join lauri and lavine. Long shot but that is a goal that has to be explored if we want a title contending team sooner than later. If not that, there is really is no course to a contender right now. At best a middle of the pack playoff team is what I'm expecting

Need to trade for a star. I think Zach can make a few Allstar games but he not a franchise player. Lauri is a 3rd option..i dont see him being a star at all. The core as now isnt anything special....not hating...none of the young cats are a #1 so we need to get one from elsewhere

We have a ready made 2nd and 3rd options with Zach & Lauri. Nice young defensive focused centers with Wendell & Gafford. A young rook guard that I think can be a 20 point scorer and pushes the pace. We really just need to replace Otto in 2021 with a star. It might not be a special core, but it’s pretty solid and very young. They need to show they can compete now in the next couple years tho, like the Nets did. That’s why the Otto, Sato, Thad pickups were key. We got some nice vets to get us more competitive and they all expire in 2021. We could prob look to keep Sato & Thad after a big signing too and go into the lux tax.

The Otto moved proved to be wise as a great stopgap. I gotta give them credit for that one. He’s gonna be a cog that ups everyone’s game a bit

Like the other guys have said we need to get a superstar, but outside of that, not sure what we got, but long as it ain’t that shyt we rolled out last year, I’m ok

scoring skills are nice but I didn't like what I saw in regards to setting up other guys but he's young, just hope he ain't Aaron Brooks with a fro :francis:
hes certainly a scorer before being a playmaker

the way offenses are trending, a true playmaker isnt as necessary though. you just need players that move the ball and understand the offense. hes going to be sharing ball handling duties with Zach, Sato, Dunn anyways

Bulls’ Zach LaVine is not thrilled with his analytics department

I know … ain’t this crazy,’’ LaVine told the Sun-Times on Friday, when asked about his mid-range game being grounded.

According to LaVine, the organization’s numbers department is convinced that his mid-range game has to go away. For how long? LaVine wasn’t sure. Maybe it’s just a preseason thing or maybe it’s just until the new up-tempo offense finds its legs. Either way, LaVine feels like it’s killing an already “lost art.’’

“I mean I grew up being a Michael Jordan, Kobe [Bryant] fan,’’ LaVine said. “I know that some of the greatest scores in NBA history were mid-range, mid-post guys. It’s sad to see it be pushed to the side. I mean Carmelo [Anthony] is one of the greatest scorers ever, but he’s out of the NBA right now somewhat because the analytics don’t want mid-range twos.

“I think it takes away a little bit of the skillfulness and it takes away some of the weaponry. But I’ll tell you this, there’s still guys in the NBA – and I think I’m one of them – that can still get it done.’’

Speed and handles looked better then i expected through the highlights

Looks like coby was playin wit alot of confidence , especially fo a rookie who is gonna rely mainly.on his shot which says alot ,

Coby obviously feels comfortable out there , bulls offence looks so much better this season already ...

Honestly it’s refreshing to hear the Bulls are becoming a bit modernized in this regard. Zach would be better served taking less mid range shots and increasing his 3s. It doesn’t mean he shouldn’t utilize it ever, but he’s a great 3 point shooter off the dribble. Take the controlled mids, but he should remove the Kobe hero mids from his game, I was saying that last season

That title is clickbait from Cowley btw, Zach isn’t upset or something, he’s just talking

I also like how he acknowledges the need for the mid game in the playoffs and when the games tighten up
