I have a good time when I go out of my mind..
They're out of their mind w/ that asking price, especially considering there's no disc drive. This is definitely for the hardest of the hardcore 'luxury' crowd.

They probably realize they're far enough ahead to test the market with this price and see if they could launch the PS6 at $700.

Vote with your wallet guysI was ready to buy this day one at 600 maybe 650, but looks like you mainly getting performance mode with fidelity quality graphics.
It's hard to justify this day one at that price though. Sony raised the ps5 price in Japan and the dualsense 5 more dollars all around. I'm gonna take a wait and see approach with more games.
I mainly wanted this for the best experience with gta 6 so I'll make my decision closer to its release when I know exactly how it will perform with that game. I can buy it outright if I wanted but this will give me time to save some money on the side I just hope they don't have supply issues like with the base ps5 at launch. If they are hard to come by before gta 6 then I will regret not getting it day one.

A PS5 in 2024 with inflation is 600 in today's dollars. Component prices aren't dropping like they have in the past so that consoles reduce in price over time (simple greed by the component makers by the way). It's happening with so much tech.
But I already know 2 people personally crying about the price but have bought the new Iphone every year for the past 7 years. People so fulla shyt.
Just buy a base PS5 if it's too expensive and keep it moving.
Watch that drive start to be impossible to find soon.
I have WAY too many games and movies on disc to be without a disc drive.
(I'm relatively fine going 100% digital with the next console gen at this point as far as future gaming is concerned).

yeah, for cats that have large physical libraries, it is some bullshyt. But if they added the drive, it'd be even higher. Sony new CEO was the CFO and he's not gonna take a loss on this shyt.
I've been accepted it. Just like music and everything else. Tech gone move forward with or without you, so it is what it is.
Crazy buying "physical" games in a store and getting home to open the case with a code to download the game.
