They're doing it in opposition of the child pornography issue that's been going on for years.
Since I was in high school, teenage guys and girls have been posting pornography involving themselves and others.

A bunch of "sex workers" and "artists" who use Tumblr as their main platform (after cultivating followers for years) are enraged, but they can't do much about it.
Most of the content has already been deleted and the search function on the site is dead, Tumblr is going to have such a massive drop in overall usage.
