They haven't even really been producing anything since moving to peacock. Especially compared to the early years of the network and prenetwork with WWE 24/7.
Would love to see more Legends Roundtables, Rivalry episodes, etc.
This is low key the best pro wrestling channel on YouTube for matches, promo, stuff not on Peacock. It’s content in its original form and not just ripped from other sources. And it’s all organized with playlists by year and show and it’s constantly updated every week, sometimes more than once. A true gem.
I know ya'll don't like him...but, he's right. Basically sayin' that WWE went from 10 million eyes to 1 million isn't because of MNF or Hulu/streaming.
They lost casual viewers. They will keep the hardcore fans no matter what. Said that everyone knows that wrestling is predetermined, so, it's not enough (for a casual) that the in-ring wrestling is good.
And AEW gets a lot of shyt for bad storytelling and too much wrestling...WWE isn't doing that much better.
He brings up Who is Finn Balor? Who is Seth Rollins? and he mentions the 30 minute matches with 3 commercial breaks.
He brings up how the Attitude had a better diversity of storytelling; Romance, sex, violence, etc.
There were more complex storylines; ppl had competing angles and not just "heel v face." Which makes sense because I watched a video about how much HHH loves the NWA era and the Bloodline is the biggest evidence he's booking like NWA.
The biggest thing that got me was; I can't tell you want (for example) Bianca Belair's character actually wants.
Inside the ring is self explanatory
She wants to "get her lick back" and win the title
She's got a husband that wrestlers
Russo (for all his faults that I get) is kinda right
Same with Cody; "Finish the story" is a meme at this point because everybody got an idea of what that means (winning the title, winning at Wrestlemania, winning the title, winning the title from Roman, etc.)
Russo is the guy that has a few great ideas mixed in with a bunch of horrible ones. I do agree with his thoughts of having storylines for everyone up and down the card. But I disagree with all of his batshyt crazy storylines he would give to all of those people. Also his stories having no continuity kills the chance for fans to get attached to talent because they would constantly turn back and forth. Plus if the title is changing hands every other week then seeing a title change doesn't feel special any more.
It was cool, lots of dope archival footage of him through different eras
Fun watch, it got repetitive at times though IMO. Could have been a YouTube drop half the length, didn’t need to be a full blown doc
Dudes collection of merch and ring used gear is nuts. Still can’t figure out how he could afford front row tickets to so many shows. Especially these days
