Rock from '98-early '99 when he was just coming up with all of his material and saying it for the first time = legendary. Rock then running that same material into the ground over the next three years....yeah, I'll leave it there. :unimpressed: Glad he was able to get some of that juice back when he turned heel in '03.

Do they even have the episode when Ron Simmons wins the title from Vader up?

kind of. I guess it was like a house show. it happened on 8/2. the 8/8/92 episode is up, where they recap the title change and show the match in part. I don't know where they show the full match, but they definitely did, bc it can easily be found online

Nobody was touching him those next 3 years...2002 Rock was a god on the mic.

Eh...I'm in the middle of rewatching that entire run and I find myself zoning out during every one of his promos these days. Just the same jokes/catch phrases rehashed over and over and they're not nearly as funny as when he first said the shyt. Every now and then he might have some new material that's engaging, but for the most part if you've heard one Rock promo you've heard them all.

Just started that APA untold ...

Ron was a monster at FSU but why didn't he succeed in the pros, was he just a "tweener" that couldnt stick at DT or DE?

Being all :dahell:at the Farooq Asad gimmick :mjlol:

Funny how no mention at pitching Sunny as his manager :mjpls:

He got injured badly in training camp and got cut.. broken ankle.

Went to the CFL but Canada was trash he reckons.

Then lost interest in football cos he wasn't in the NFL. Kinda trash really cos he was a top 10 finalist for the Heisman, sounds like he coulda forged a decent pro career

I watched Souled Out 2000 over the weekend for the 1st time (I stopped watching wrestling in probably mid 99 for a few years). It was an OK show that would've been better without the 3 Kidman matches. But the main thing I noticed is that t's crazy how much IWC narratives are bullsh1t sometimes.

I'd read about the Sid vs Chris Benoit main event before, and it was made out to be WCW listening to the fans finally and giving Benoit the win over a bigger guy, but it was too late and The Radicalz already made their decision to leave. What actually happened though, is the crowd barely gave a fukk about Benoit and was cheering Sid the whole match and mostly not reacting to Benoit's sh1t, or slightly booing it at times. No dueling "Lets go Sid, Lets go Benoit", it's all Sid and they don't even hate Benoit, just don't seem to care much. But internet writers were swearing that they needed to push Benoit and that it was time.

Let's go X, Let's go Y chants weren't even a thing yet. Sid was always over no matter how bad his matches were. The time for pushing Benoit (and not even Benoit specfically but the whole mid card workhorse crew and younger stars instead of continuing to push old washed up stars is what people mean in this context) was way over due and it really was a bizarre decision to put the belt on Benoit when they knew he was leaving. Putting it on him was not going to keep him or the other three. It was a completely empty gesture and they should have just had him give Sid the best match Sid can have and put him over strong. Instead it led to the title being immediately vacated, Sid wins it, vacated again, Kevin Nash wins it, Sid wins it back all within the next 2 weeks.

Ernie Ladd was tripping. He was the announcer on the oldest Wrestling Challenge. Koko B Ware comes out and Ladd calls him a new age Steppin Fetchit then says that koko does have real soul unlike all those half breeds lol.
