Nah. Rock/Austin needed to headline WM 17 and it's still the GOAT WM main event. HHH/Austin did need a real blow off though. I assume eventually the Power Trip would have ended with the two of them splitting up and headlining Summerslam or Survivor Series. HHH's injury really changed everything for 2001. Alliance angle would have been way different, Austin probably wouldn't have gone comedy, probably wouldn't have had Jericho vs Rock, Angle vs Austin, and so on.

Wish we could have gotten a triple threat match between HHH/Rock/Austin in 2001.

Was just watching the Ambrose interview with Stone Cold from a couple years ago and had to cut it off midway thru because of second hand embarrassment, it’s even more cringe than I remember :picard: Ambrose struggling to complete a full thought and fumbling his sentences, his lack of energy, all the dead air. He had a horrible rapport with Austin. It looked like Austin wanted to strangle his ass on several occasions from the parts I rewatched :russ:. Dean was definitely on drugs.

I know Dunne vs Walter is what everyone is looking forward to, but I'm more excited for a Ringkampf + Aichner vs British Strong Style 6 man tag and hope it goes down on a special show and played for the best match possible instead of TV match to extend the angle.

Austin: do you get excited about ANYTHING?
Ambrose: Nah, man, I'm tryin' to bring chill vibes, you're all hyped up

Man, Starrcade 1986 is pretty fukking bad. The only matches that are worth a shyt at all are Flair/Nikita, Andersons vs RNR, and Dusty vs Tully, but even then all three have a bunch of ref fukkery (Flair/Nikita is actually a double DQ in the main event of the "Superbowl of wrestling", the tag match has a ref bump that literally doesn't even play into the finish at all, and Dusty/Tully is Dusty getting screwed out of a win by a ref bump).

The undercard is some of the dullest shyt you can imagine, and since the event was held in two venues, the dead time switching back and forth and setting up cages and shyt is just brutal. It's nearly 4 hours long. It's like....modern WM paced and trash.
