Man, to be blessed to work on top in New York in the early 70s :mjlol: I watched Pedro vs Blackjack Mulligan in Hidden Gems before bed last night, It's a nearly 20 minute match with I believe 4 bumps between them, every couple of minutes Blackjack adjusts the glove and the crowd comes unglued each time. The chin locks are the loosest things you've ever seen :russ:

SMH they never send me any offers free trials anymore, but I'm waiting for them to put all the episodes of WCW Saturday night and primetime before I subscribe again anyway.

Lol that the Cyrus/Network angle had the pay off of Cyrus in kayfabe cancelling ECW just like he promised. Even more lol that he still stayed on TV with the company, with them still finding an angle to get him into the booth for PPV. In general, all the shows after the TNN deal ended feel like when you have nothing left and are just trying to get through your workouts as best you can. Especially the PPVs. Every match up and down the card feels like guys just struggling to get to the finish line. November To Remember 2000 is particularly brutal in that respect, seemed like every match was a mess and guys were hurt coming in or during the match, backstage the show was chaos after Sinister Minister blew his hand off and cops were trying to arrest half the ECW staff for trying to film stuff.

I would say there's a palpable energy that everyone knows they're circling the drain, jokes are being made on screen about bounced checks/missing money, Paul E. was rarely at the shows and delegated the booking to Dreamer and some other wrestlers throughout the year (notably Lance Storm before he went to WCW), RVD vanished without a trace because he refused to work until he got paid the money owed to him. It's not quite the same as what was going on in WCW at the same time, because at least the crowds were still hot and supportive in ECW, and there was still a cast of young dudes trying to secure their futures by showing out hoping Vince or Japan would take notice once ECW folded. Ultimately Vince nor Japan took notice of the majority of them, and when you see how few of the ECW talents got picked up by Vince or Japan, it's really hard to understate how important TNA and ROH would be for the industry at the time.

EDIT: Lmao at Cyrus introducing Jerry Lynn and doing a death metal growl that caught Jerry so off guard he :leon:

Brehs do yourselves a favor and watch this match. It’s from the 12/5/02 Smackdown. I use to have this show on VHS back in the day but I haven’t seen it in 10+ years...and got damn :wow: it’s prime Kurt, Eddie and Benoit going all out, Edge is great here too. It doesn’t say in the graphic but it’s an elimination match. They got 20+ minutes too.

I put it up against any of these “5 star matches” guys put on today. :whew:

I saw this live and was blown away. The false finish sequence with the last 2 guys had me literally out of my seat. One of the best 4 ways ever.

WWE has filed for a very interesting new trademark. The name indicates the promotion could have something very fun planned in the near future, but that’s all purely speculation, of course. On January 3rd WWE applied to trademark “Worlds Collide.” Below is a brief description of the application:

Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainmentservices, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network”

The part that really gets the wheels turning in our heads is “live wrestling events.” This could mean WWE is planning a pay-per-view (PPV) with the name “Worlds Collide.” Perhaps this is a sign that WWE is considering partnerships with other promotions? Of course, that would be very unlikely. It’s more likely that WWE is gearing up for an NXT vs. NXT UK special, or maybe a main roster vs. NXT event.

Happened upon this earlier today.
