But they can show njpw footage on their youtube account

They can and have shown it on various Network programs as well, it's just those specific shows, that took place in Japan on NJPW shows, are likely not worth the hassle of rights issues to work through for WWE. Any WCW show that showed NJPW footage is intact, and NJPW footage/photos played heavily in Balor and Nak promotion in NXT.

Bottom line is, if WWE really wants to show footage, they'll get it. They've put up matches from the AJPW/NJPW/WWF summit show on the Network and at least one or two DVD releases in the past, as well as SWS/WAR matches on Colosseum Home Video in the past.

In actuality, the WCW/NJPW supershows aren't very good and probably have fairly limited value or desire among most of the Network fanbase. Not enough to work out the rights issues outside of like...Sting/Muta vs Steiners and...well, that's probably it.

Koalabama and the Cosmos
Watched SummerSlam 94 earlier. Hooo Boy, I didn't realize Undertaker vs Undertaker would be such a stinker :scust:. I forgot how good the Owen/Bret cage match was:whew:. Sure there were some slow moments, but the strategy and mind games of both dudes made the cage match, a ACTUAL cage match, instead of a match that so happens to have a cage over the ring:camby:

They really would benefit from putting those WCW Saturday nights on the network because of the early careers of so many.

Like you can see Stone Cold Steve Austin coming just watching him as Stunning Steve in the Hollywood Blondes from 1993

Been chopping interviews/gifs from Saturday nights lately and yes there's a LOT of fluff but there really are some gems in there.
