as a Rock stan, that period from like Mania to Survivor series was so fun. he literally went form a hated heel to the #2 babyface over night. watch his crowd reactions from right before summerslam to like 2-3 weeks after. and his reception at that Sept. PPV :whew: that crowd wanted nothing to do with Shamrock OR Mankind that night, and they came into the match as babyfaces. it was all Rock
Yeah im two weeks after summerslam now, building to breakdown...kane and undertaker got heat for beating UP rocky 2 on 1... the next week they go BANANAS for peoples elbow on kane.

I shyt you not, there were points where X-Pac was legitimately the most over dude besides Austin. He's way low on your list, Ed.
Oh, im a huge syxx fan during that era....from march to like june he was the second most over, but the taker and kane push was seriousl and xpac got a little lost in the shuffle...he was crazy over, agreed.

Another geat thing about 98 was the peoples elbow getting over.

From JUNE TO AUGUST

The crowd went from

:beli:
:leostare:
:ld:
:obama:
:whew:
:krs:
:damn: :damn: :lawd:
:deadwolverine:

Adding him to the brothers of destruction vs austin feud was genius...immediately elevated him. Raw 277 he beats kane, they lose their mind

When I think of the Attitude Era the first thing I think of is summer '98. Raws were fire every single week. The Raw after King of the Ring and the go home show before Summerslam were :blessed:

yeah, XPac should definitely be over Chyna and Mankind for that period. Top 10 for surein the summer of 98.

He didnt start losing fan reaction til late 98 early 99

one of my favorite raw episodes ever. Rock's promo on chyna and then the follow up great performance in the ladder match cemented him as the next guy in my eyes.

It really is. Especially if you're a historian like a lot of us are

Need to get some of that late 70's early 80's AWA on there. That stuff is tough to find
the thing I didn't like about it is the editing they do. they edit interviews, promos, ad-libs, and crowd reactions for whatever reasons

No lie...compared to the launch, the network really stepped their game up with content and specials. I just wish they get hold of the Memphis tapes:blessed:.
Jim cornette and Lawler are waiting for an offer they can't refuse.

One day meltzer, cornette, and Lawler are gonna ball out on their collections
