I think it worked so well because he was legitimately scary. Looking back at the crowds faces when he 1st came out, everyone of all ages were. His look was very believable

As much as we clown Undertaker for reaching Holmes territory, we're witnessing the end of an era. One of the greatest, versatile, most reliable wrestlers we've ever witnessed in a ring.

It's making me feel old. He's the last of the guys that were around when I started watching in the early 90's. Bret, HBK, Owen, Mr. Perfect, Razor/Hall, Diesel/Nash, Savage, Piper, etc are either retired or dead and he's the last one. It really is the end of an era.

Two wrestling podcasts I listen to are reviewing Undertakers debut on Survivor Series 1990 so I guess I'll revisit that and listen to the reviews since I'm home fukked up with a bad cold

I was legit shook of Undertaker until I was like 9 years old. Even turned down someone offering me ringside tickets to a house show at the Pond in Anaheim because Undertaker was in the main event. Although for as scary as Undertaker was, I was even more scared of Paul Bearer
