Hogan was loved on all levels...i dont know why u see Cena and Hogan as equals but they aren't. Hogan kept the belt because it was the kayfabe era and he drew big money during the 80s. Cena can't even pop a rating.

Cena turning heel won't get 1/4 of the mainstream attention Hogan got.

WWE overblows Cena's fame, I can ask my girl who Hulk Hogan or Stone Cold is and she knows if I ask about Cena she wouldnt know. He has a very weird fame to me, I guess he's kinda sorta big, but him at his peak isn't any bigger than let's say... Goldberg at his peak. People know him but he doesnt transcend the E the way they like to pretend.

Goldberg is much bigger than that..he once kind of ruled the wrestling world until Austin passed him by the second half of 98 and early 99.

yeah but he never was famous outside of wrestling. My teachers in school knew Austin, but they didn't really know Goldberg. I couldnt call my mom now and say "You remember that wrestler Goldberg" she's gonna say "Who", but if I called and said "You remember Stone Cold" she'll know.

That's kinda my point, even tho Cena has appeared to seem have a hell of a run, which i can agree to, up to a point. The average person walking the street really doesnt know him. They don't have to, but everybody knew Bruno Sammartino/Hogan/Austin/The Rock... he's a notch below that to me personally. Even though he's marketed to be on that level. he aint. He's like Goldberg, HBK level, every wrestling fan knows them, but I dont think people know him without ever seeing one of his matches. Maybe im wrong tho.

on another note.

The Network has really given me a whole new appreciation of Stone Cold. That man was unparalleled, as much as I love The Rock, I have to be honest and say I think Austin was just a notch better. I gotta do a Rock appreciation week too tho. Just to compare. Austin was a god tho, swag is unmatched.

Yo I had never seen that Cena vs. JBL parking lot brawl. That shyt was piff and hilarious. JBL threw Cena in the backseat of a whip at one point and poured gas lit the bytch on fire :russ: Tried to kill that nikka :heh:
