On Monday's post-WrestleMania 29 edition of WWE RAW, Dolph Ziggler finally cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and defeated Alberto Del Rio to capture the World Heavyweight championship. There have been many fans emailing in asking if Ziggler's title win was the result of the extensive re-writes to the RAW script that occurred after The Rock had to pull out of the show due to injury.

According to PWInsider.com, the title change was not a last-minute decision and had been planned for weeks. The reason that Ziggler lost so many matches leading up to WrestleMania is because WWE wanted to set him up as a "vulnerable" champion, with many challengers already lined up because they just beat him.

As for the previous #1 contender, Jack Swagger, there were in fact plans for him to have a World Heavyweight title run. However, his DUI arrest put an end to that scenario.

Sounds like he might have a decent run with the belt. :leon:

"Top Rope Wrestling" Promoter Responds To Kevin Nash & Sean Waltman Comments | WrestleZone

In a follow-up to an earlier post about Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman ripping into a Virginia indy promotion, WrestleZone received the following email from one of the promoters of the event. Top Rope Wrestling's Chris Graham sent WrestleZone the following via email:

"I saw your brief news item on the Kevin Nash-Sean Waltman Twitter tirade regarding our Top Rope Pro Wrestling show. Upon consultation with legal counsel, I'd like to be able to respond to what was said by the two.

There was no "scam," and such an allegation, in a legal sense, is defamatory. Mr. Nash was paid $4,000 for his appearance, by check, mailed to him on Monday, April 8, funds cleared by the bank on Friday, April 12. Mr. Waltman was paid $1,200, in cash, the night of the show.

Both had travel and accommodations paid for by the promotion as well, as is standard. There was no agreement in place with talent to disburse any of those revenues to talent. For Mr. Nash and Mr. Waltman to suggest otherwise is untrue, and we feel is clearly intended to do harm to the reputation of Top Rope Pro Wrestling, not only in the sense of the allegations regarding pay and the "scam" comment, but also in the adjectives used by Mr. Nash calling one of our staffers a "scumbag" and "hick," and as such constitutes actionable defamation on the part of Mr. Nash and Mr. Waltman.

Similar arrangements regarding the VIP Meet and Greet were in place with Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson and Mick Foley. Jake "The Snake" Roberts also did a VIP Meet and Greet, and we agreed with him ahead of time to give him half of the proceeds of that meet and greet to go toward his medical bills. Jake was paid $1,000 from the VIP ticket sales per our agreement.

It is telling that Mr. Waltman has taken down eight of the nine tweets related to the show, including the most inflammatory ones, about not getting paid and about "scams." Perhaps he was given legal advice as to what constitutes slander and defamation and came to the realization that he had crossed the line and exposed himself to legal action.

We are considering all options to correct for the slanderous and defamatory statements made by Mr. Nash and Mr. Waltman and the damage to our reputation that has been done with these materially false messages being sent out to their hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter and the additional coverage that has been given to their messages on various wrestling news websites.

We will also be in contact with the state commission that regulates pro wrestling in Virginia regarding the wrestling licenses of Mr. Nash and Mr. Waltman. It is our hope that we can prevent other promoters in Virginia, at the least, from being exposed to this kind of malicious treatment from these two performers in the future.

- Courtesy of WWEDVDNews.com, here are some updated notes on the 2013 WWE DVD schedule:

* A Best of Madison Square Garden set is still planned and will be a 3 disc DVD, 2 disc Blu-ray. It's scheduled for an August 27th release in the US and September 9th in the UK.

* Best of Mid-South Wrestling will be a 3 disc DVD and 2 disc Blu-ray set, scheduled for release on September 10th in the US and September 16th in the UK.

* A Triple H bio will be 3 disc DVD and 2 disc Blu-ray, hitting US stores on September 24th and UK stores on October 7th. :blessed:

* WWE still has plans to release a Goldberg set but it's a match compilation and likely won't feature a documentary. It's possible Goldberg won't even be involved with the project. That 3 disc DVD and 2 disc Blu-ray set is scheduled for a US release on October 8th and a UK release on September 30th.

* The Money in the Bank Anthology will be a 3 disc DVD and 2 disc Blu-ray, releasing in the US on October 29th and the UK on November 11th.

* History of WWE is another 3 disc DVD and 3 disc Blu-ray that's being worked on and is scheduled for a November 19th release in the US and a November 4th release in the UK.

- Part of the reason why Brock Lesnar has returned and The Undertaker is working next week is because CM Punk won't be returning anytime soon and WWE needs star power on TV.

Before this past Monday, the plan was for CM Punk to come out on RAW and whine about losing at WrestleMania 29, then walk out of the company in the storylines. This was held off from the post-WrestleMania RAW because officials felt that Punk would get a big reaction from the post-WrestleMania RAW crowd. Another reason it was held off is because Punk wasn't happy with the verbiage they wanted him to use and didn't want to come off as a whiner.

A few weeks back, Punk had a big blow up with WWE creative and wanted to give his notice to quit the company. He went and worked it out with top WWE officials. At that time, it was decided that Punk wouldn't be working live events anymore, just TV and WrestleMania 29.

Between the backstage problems and severely tearing knee ligaments at WrestleMania, Punk was written off TV this past Monday at RAW. Punk will be fine once he rests up and lets his knees heal. Right now there is no set plan for Punk to return but word is that he won't be back until SummerSlam time.

punk better be back in time for summerslam :birdman:

- Original plans for Brock Lesnar and Triple H had them re-visiting the feud later this year, not doing a third match at Extreme Rules. The planned angle with The Rock and Brock Lesnar for the post-WrestleMania RAW that didn't happen would have built to a SummerSlam match, not a WrestleMania XXX match as previously reported.

Regarding The Rock, there is a lot of concern, or maybe just paranoia, among people within WWE that he will never wrestle again.

- Former TNA announcer Don West noted on Twitter that he recently received his bi-annual royalty check. He tweeted:

"Just got my biannual royalty check from TNA and if it wasn't so hilarious it would be sad"

West later noted that the check was actually less than a TNA Brown Bag Special, a ShopTNA.com product he helped get off the ground to help sell older merchandise. They sell for $20 each.

- TNA Knockout Tara revealed on Twitter that she won't be attending any Impact Wrestling TV tapings for a few months.

With The Rock out of the pay-per-view plans, WWE was urging him to shoot an angle on Raw the night after Wrestlemania to explain his absence. One idea pitched was for Brock Lesnar to lay him out and plant the seed for a future match between the two, possibly at Wrestlemania XXX next year. Sources close to Rock feel he isn’t completely sold on working Lesnar, feeling that match lost some of its luster when both were booked under this year. Instead,*Rock wants to face Undertaker at Wrestlemania XXX and feels it’s the biggest match that can be done.

At Monday's RAW from Greenville, South Carolina, a fan reportedly held up a "RAW Is Generico" sign and was moved by security, taken from his paid seat to the opposite side of the arena and a seat filler took his seat at ringside. The fan asked security why he was being moved and was told the people running the show didn't want him sitting there because of his sign.

The fan reportedly asked if they could just take the sign and let him sit at ringside but was told by a security guard that he was about to be kicked out because the people running the show, presumably WWE officials, didn't want him there. Another guard told the fan that wasn't correct, they just didn't want him in front of the camera. Apparently another man who was sitting with the fan also had his seats changed after he was seen holding up a sign related to Ring of Honor.

Rock vs. Undertaker? Eh. Never thought their styles went well together, then again, Undertaker is almost a totally different worker now. But so is Rock. I don't even know how you would book that feud...

Cena/Undertaker seems like the no-brainer (to me, at least) for WM30. No title, just the streak. Undertaker goes over, then retires.

If Rock still wants to wrestle next year, I think it should either be against Brock or HHH (Rock & HHH both immediately retire).
