Amazon gave me a gift card for $22.16... I have no idea why and the email doesn't say either. They just said they were giving me a gift card. 
So I redeemed that card and spent the money before they could take it back

It ran its course with Hasbro, I think. With the market shifting towards TMNT and ultimately Batman, while the newer Transformers weren't selling like the OG G1 series, they just let it go.
Honestly, it was probably for the best, because the shows over there started to become more Japanese oriented (no pun/cism), and less westernized. It probably had a hard time finding the logic of pushing that on kids over here at the time.

Apparently whatever bootlegged copies got around here in the '90s had awful English language voice overs. The DVD was released by Shout Factory (the same company that reissued the U.S. G1 series a few years ago). Original Japanese audio with English subtitles.
