I've got a question.


All the times a crowd have changed "You can't wrestle", have they ever had a gimmick, in any promotion throughout history, that played up to the fact that someone couldn't wrestle, that that was their gimmick? Or was the kayfabe too strong?

That's basically Eva's gimmick right now. But David Flair in WCW (before he became crazy dude with a crowbar) had this gimmick. Basically, Ric was in charge and crazy and wanted David to be a star even though he couldn't do anything and was absolutely terrible, so he'd pay off David's opponents, have Little Naitch ref all of his matches, and he/Arn/Asya would interfere if they didn't cooperate. It's probably the best example of what you're asking for.

I was watching an Eva Marie match when I asked this question. I guess I want to see it really played up- improper technique, cluelessness, a bad pin like Cameron that one time. Her idgaf attitude is on point though.

Well, that was David's gimmick. He literally couldn't do anything in the ring, but crazy Ric was pushing his son and making sure he won all of his matches to make him a star. That was his gimmick. And true, because he couldn't do shyt in the ring.
