Is it safe to say Ken Shamrock helped changed wrestling by introducing the "tapout" option in submission holds?

Absolutely. Tapping out is much better for submissions than verbally submitting and Shamrock's credibility as a shoot fighter gave the entire industry legitimacy in a time when it desperately needed to mirror real sports to keep up the fading facade of kayfabe.

Why'd they drop the ball on Shamrock? He had main event tools and was pushed hard initially.

My allergy to latex = his allergy to the Mic

Real shyt, he and Dan Severn could have both been champs during this time but they couldn't work a mic and Vince wasn't having that

I always felt Bret should have gotten the DQ win at Survivor Series then dropped the belt to Shamrock the next night on Raw setting up HBK vs Shamrock at In Your House: Degeneration X and Bret could have avoid the "Montreal Screwjob" fate

us 90s kids grew up when the internet was actually a legit mind expansion tool and not the clusterfukk of corporate overconnectivity it is today

This. The internet didn't become an obsessive almost necessary crutch until the mid 00's, if not later. From 8th grade to a junior in HS (00-04), my cell phone was strictly to call my parents to let them know when I'd be at the bus stop and not much else :russ:. Can't blame us for that mess, you probably gotta blame the gen born from 94 and on, the generation that literally type in the exact words into google to complete their assignments, the ones that don't at all know the struggle of either having to read an entire book to do an assignment, or trying to do the best paraphrasing possible :lolbron:
