Not that refs ´do´ something but they definitely play a part in the feel of a match.

I remember during Corino's commentary on Wrestle Kingdom when Omega dropped Okata on his neck from the top rope of him saying that he's gonna look back and remember every silly ass bump that helped fukked him up. That's how I feel when I watch past Foley matches and see how he's broken down and emasculated today.

I love seeing some of the amazing athleticism these guys display, but some of the risks these guys take are insane. A lot of times it isn't necessary.
