Ooooooooh I'm heated, brehs. HEATED AT WHAT BECOME OF THESE PPL!
Johnny Jeter formed a fantastic babyface pairing with Matt Cappotelli in OVW. Hardyz like in a way. They would have had to add an edge to their act on the main roster, but they were broken up in OVW and Cap fell ill sadly.
But Jeter as a heel in OVW was quite good in his role as chicken shyt ducking and dodging coward. He would make grand proclamations, get in deep shyt, have to be bailed out by the likes of Mister Kennedy or Daniel Puder (I think) then gloat like he had it in hand all along. It was quite entertaining and from a storytelling standpoint satisfying to see him get his come uppance. In the ring he was one of the better workers they had. Better than CM Punk!
Kenny Doane was as every one can probably guess booked like a blue chipper hot shot Wrestlemania maineventer in waiting. I thought he did very well as a cocky prick with an inflated and unearned sense of self worth. Actually he excelled in it, and had a good supporting cast of Kenny Bolin, a kind of hot valet named Sosay, Mikey(Mondo) this pyschopath named Dean Vhisk (sp) and Bobby Lashley. Basically he would lord over his subordinates who would enable his self centered view of the world. His wrestling was pretty good for someone so young. And like Jeter he was better than Punk was in OVW.
Ken also had a good foil in the serious about wrestling Brent Albright and even Punk.
Mikey aka Mikey Mondo was probably too small to get any serious burn in 2005-2006 WWE. But he brought a pretty good act to those OVW as a creepy, annoying, loud mouth heel. Kind of like a smaller Hardcore Holly when he was doing the super heavyweight gimmick. But also played up as a bit of a pervert.
Don't remember Nick Mitchell and don't remember Dolph doing much before SS.
Now I should note this was all Heyman booked OVW which IMO was the best show in the 00's post 2000.
WWE pissed away a lot of OVW talent. Like why did they even sign these people?
