TSC Tag Teams/Stables Evaluation #12: The Briscoes

One of the best teams of the 00’s. At a time when the mainstream tag team division (ie WWE) was busy being jobbed out by main event talent or neglected, the Indy’s and TNA held it down. On that end, the Briscoes were one of the premiere teams from either fed. I first started watching ROH in the mid to late 00’s and the Briscoes were a big part of why I first followed them, largely due to their feud with the Age of the Fall. They’ve been consistent as hell since the start, they’ve been similarly versatile. Face, heel, as a team or as solo acts they’ve killed it. List of great matches a mile long, with Steenerico, AOTF, Young Bucks, etc. I can see why people wouldn’t go the full boat because they’ve mostly stayed within their borders of ROH, but I’m going 10

My favorite tag team behind the Hardys and the Wrecking Crew. Jay and Matt are main event caliber promo men who happen to be able to be heel or face. Excellent team. They've coasted for years though, but if they ever get the big stage they have the talent to be the A-side of any feud.

Prob their best overall promo (it pretty much turned them face)and it explains what happened to their first shot at WWE. The second shot was ruined by Jay threatening to shoot anyone who tells his children that homosexuality isnt wrong.

There is a big difference between me CLEARLY PLAYING (im a grown ass man im not gonna kill over a fukkin game) and this overall aura the coli has...like everything is c00n cac faq bedwench etc....this place has a really bad reputation and honestly, it gets tiring.

They arent misinformed. The majority of wrestling trainers dont care much if you are a amateur wrestler. Theres still a process to getting respect in pro wrestling. Setting up rings is part of that. You learn the business from the ground up. Everyone from the Briscoes to Shane McMahon had to go through that. Its what you do. If you dont, you dont get much respect.

this is one of those "if there was no rakim" type of scenarios... if there was no amateur wrestling there would be no "professional" wrestling... ironically the latter is scripted...so all these nihhas setting up rings in bingo halls wouldnt exist with people like shelton and charlie
