I thought he seemed interesting but he's a boring version of Scott Hall
Lot of untapped potential with Carlito. He had a (no pun intended) cool look, interesting gimmick, he could talk well. Wasn’t the most memorable worker but he could go. He’s just one of many, many midcard dudes from that era that never went anywhere for one reason (poor attitude, no motivation, etc.) or another. Whether or not the reports about his poor attitude and laziness were true or came from his own doing or unhappiness with the company is up for debate. After about 2007 though his relevance as a character on WWE tv was over, and the next few years were basically just coast and collect a check aka Dolph Ziggler status. I stanned dude briefly but his resume is too short to really say a whole lot about. He’s got a few solid matches (triple threat with Shelton & Nitro, vs. Orton, etc.) and a few solid feuds with names like Cena and Flair, but not a whole lot to his name. Call it a 6 for Carlito
Neither was Al PacinoThe funny thing is that Hall wasn't even Latino.
I never even seen this cat wrestle. All I've seen (even watching live) was wack Razor Ramon jr. promos and him spitting apples on folks for whatever reason.
Somebody point me in the direction of some decent matches.
The funny thing is that Hall wasn't even Latino.
Carlito, Mr. Kennedy, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin all were thought to be future stars. Sadly it didn't turn out the way we expected.
They did the same thing to Billy Kidman and his Shooting Botch PressShelton couldn't really talk, but he started botching here and there and they started incorporating that into this "pressure is getting to him" type storyline (so fukking stupid to draw attention to people's mistakes, why would you do that?).
MVP had everything? He couldn't wrestle for shyt. He didnt look decent until the Benoit matchesOff the top of my head I can only think of maybe an IC title match with Shelton, that's about it. I mostly remember him as a pretty average wrestler with a good character that could talk. Pretty much all I can think of.
That really sucks too. Carlito eventually became lazy, Kennedy was injury prone, hit with a PED suspension, then killed off by that silly Orton " botch", and Shelton couldn't really talk, but he started botching here and there and they started incorporating that into this "pressure is getting to him" type storyline (so fukking stupid to draw attention to people's mistakes, why would you do that?). MVP was the only one out of those 4 that didn't do himself in. He basically had everything you wanted in a young hot heel at the time, and they chose to extinguish him with a losing streak gimmick (that amounted to nothing) and then got drafted to Raw. The fans liked him as a heel, and he did hold the IC title, but you could tell his time as a high level guy in the WWE's eyes was wrapping up.
Hornswoggle and GOAT should never be in the same sentence.6. Decent worker, not that great a promo, but good midcard character/look.
The Hornswoggle wall segment was GOAT, I wish we had more dumb sh1t like that in todays midcard.
