Hot stuff Eddie Gilbert was a good heel and phonomonal talker. After watching his in CWA and ECW runs on YouTube and the Network it was clear to me that he had the natural entertaining presence on the mic and his character archetype was the precursor to WCW Jericho, and The Miz currently. Overall he gets 7 from me.

:snoop:This entry is like Tully Blanchard trying to main event a PWG event.

Anywho, I didn't really follow Gibert's early work but I was a instant fan during his ECW run:whew:. The heel game is on par, his mic work was impeccable, and his moveset is what it is:ld:. Yet, dude made you believe that you wasn't shyt and never going to be shyt. Plus he shytted on Lawler so that is a automatic 8 in my book:wow:

Heard of him and how hes supposed to be HBK before HBK, but never watched him. I doubt most of TSCs seen him wrestle.

Come on dawg, Tully Blanchard couldn't even get past a page of posts, and you expect Eddie Gilbert to get a big discussion going? :mjlol:

Is it possible to give him an 8.5?

8. I wanna push for 9 but I'm going with 8.

edit: fukk it. 9.

Personality/Gimmick alone is an 11. Me and Artt Barr gonna prolly be the only folks here to agree on that point, though. All of those pretty boy sleazeball rock star wrestlers need to pay homage to dude.

He's actually the first "modern" wrestler, in my opinion.

One of my GOAT heels. I remember my grandmother talking my grandfather down cause he grabbed a gun and was headed to memphis after Gilbert hit Lawler with the car :laff:

Embarrassed to say I've yet to really watch any of his matches. I was privy to him when I fist got into wrestling by reading about him constantly in PWI and related magazines. He seemed to be a cool heel who could throw fireballs

Kind of a shame that hardly anybody around here will make an effort to educate themselves on the talents and accomplishments of dudes and borderline legends from the past like Eddie Gilbert.

I guess that's fair though. I ain't been making any effort to educate myself on the talents of Baron Corbin. :yeshrug:

Anyway, Eddie comes from a time when pro wrestling was much more entertaining to me. @Cobratron summed it up well, I can't add too much to that, but I'd give Eddie an 8, and it would have been higher had he lived longer. It's not out of the question to say he could have been one of the very best in the history of the business.

I find the threads about unsung wrestlers just as enjoyable as the other threads. :ehh:
