A strong 8. Deserved at the least a 90 day run with the strap. Legendary. Better actor then Hogan. Real MVP of WM 1 and 2. Was way ahead of his time.

This is hard for me, because Piper was an absolute tier-zero legend from the mid '80s up until 1992. Then he completely fell off for me when he returned to the WWF in 1996 to feud with Goldust and stunk up WCW for years with many, many horrible matches and rambling nonsensical promos and then further sullied his career in TNA and various WWE appearances.

Promo work (at his prime): 10

Personality (at his prime): 10

Ring work: 5. Average wrestler who could be carried to a great match with the right opponent. Favorite match is vs. Bret at WM8 for the IC title. One of WM's best matches and one of my favorite matches of all time. Great storyline of old friends getting heated with each other all in the name of competition and championships. Loved the tease in the match of Piper considering heeling it up on Bret as well.

Overall: a 7, because the second half of his career was so godawful, I can't disregard it.

I wanted to bump this up since I thought about continuing the series and making it a weekly thing. Also if people have other requests that haven't been covered yet post them here.

I don't see how you can have Piper as anything less than an 8. He was one of the biggest stars in the business during it's biggest boom period ever up to that point, headlined more shows than just about anyone not named Hogan or Flair during that era. His matches weren't great by today's standards but they had an unpredictability and urgency to them that 90% of today's guys can't come close to touching. Promos, an 11 on a the 1-10 scale. Probably top 5 of all time in terms of being able to talk people into buying tickets or PPVs.

His WCW run put a real damper on his career, and then the stuff when he came back to WWE wasn't good.

-Mic work/promos 10. This was his forte. Birthed alot of heel modern guy styles

-Personality/gimmicks - 8

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) 7. Really dont remeber his matches that well. He was a guy who gave you good promos and had a good gimmick. In the ring, not so much to offer.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores) 8.
