I put him in the same tier as Kane, especially with how intertwined their careers became where whenever either guy had nothing to do, they feuded or teamed up. So if I have Kane at 7, Big Show’s gotta be around the same status or higher.
With Show, I was a big fan of his in WCW, atleast initially. I’m not one of those dudes who’ll talk about “the look” as a wrestling fan, but WCW Giant was cool almost entirely based off his look. A younger, leaner version of Andre? Dude was intimidating:
But besides some fukkery involving the Dungeon of Doom, his constant either feuding with or being apart of the nWo, and like that one time Goldberg Jackhammered him, there’s not much I can remember off hand about his time there.
His WWF/E had initial promise and it was fun to see him jump ship and be involved with or against guys like Austin, Rock, and Mankind. His WWF title run was pretty disastrous all things considered and was really only entertaining due to GOAT level Big Bossman scumbaggery. Big chunks of his career he owes some credit to Paul Heyman for, as Heyman helped revitalize and rejuvenate him as the monster he should be, both during the Smackdown Six era and the early days of WWECW. The latter of which I credit Show a lot for, as he carried the show. His Mayweather feud after his return was really fun and is probably the best celebrity match in WWE history. I was a big JeriShow fan during their run. He’s produced some good matches and storylines since, with Reigns, Bryan, Sheamus, and Braun to name a few.
I can’t remember any promos off hand of his but I don’t remember any being downright bad or him being unable to talk.
Favorite matches would include Souled Out 98 with Nash (with the botched Jacknife), Vengeance 2003 with Brock and Kurt, Wrestlemania XX with Cena, Wrestlemania 24 with Mayweather, and his recent battles with Braun.
All in all I’ve never really been a big fan of his tbh but he deserves a lot of credit for his versatility and his willingness to put people over. The guy had a hand in helping quite a few names either legitimize themselves or make their names off of feuding with and beating him, like Brock Lesnar (who’s feats of strength against Show always looked AMAZING), John Cena, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, and Braun Strowman.
I’d go with an 8. Much like Cena, if he had stronger periods of consistency he’d be an easy 10.
