-Mic work/promos: 3
Billy Gunn's only remarkable promos were when he was on the receiving end of the 2 most well known roastings in the Attitude Era.:mjlol:

The Rock's promo

Edge's promo

He was a decent complement to Road Dogg but outside of the New Age Outlaws, his mic work is forgettable.

-Personality/gimmicks: 2
He somehow managed to have terrible gimmicks in 3 different eras of wrestling.

The Smoking Gunns during the mid 90s era of :hhh: gimmicks (don't ask how)
NDmlq2Y.jpg

The Mr. Ass gimmick in the Attitude Era and yes that shirt is real :dame:

diP45dW.jpg

His mid-life crisis The One gimmick. All he did was get a haircut and change his colors. :dwillhuh:

And even in TNA he was known as Cute Kip and worked with the Beautiful People

If it weren't for the NAO, I would have given this fool a 0. :martin: So I guess you could say "I have 2 points for you"

I still don't even know what the Mr. Ass gimmick was about. Was it just that he liked asses? :yeshrug:I mean it said so in the song. That's not much of a gimmick.

:mjlol: at "so many asses, so little time"

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds): 6

He was extremely athletic for someone who was 6'4" and 260. His moveset was pretty great too. Jackhammer, Fameasser, Military Press Slam, a pretty good dropkick, and other moves. I can't remember a notable singles match from him though. :yeshrug:

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores): 4
A good tag team wrestler who had awful gimmicks and one of the biggest flops of a push that we've ever seen. He'll definitely make the HOF as a member of the NAO since they're an iconic team but as a singles wrestler he's not getting in there.

cosign this whole post..bart gunn > billy gunn

Ring- 7. The guy was actually very athletic and a pretty good worker.

Charisma/star power- 5. He had a good look and stayed over. Definitely didn't have that top star quality and his mic skills sucked though.

Mic- 3. He was trash.

Overall-6. Dude was an OK enough talent, a decent midcarder. The NAO were over as fukk, he deserves some credit for that, his athleticism and ring skills. Those Rock and Edge promos were fake. Hes not trash because of them.

He overachieved something major. He should've always been a contender and never a champion outside of being in a tag team. He just had a great physique and charisma. The One, Badd Ass, Mr. Ass. :comeon: He just wasn't good.

Dolph is a better Billy Gunn than Billy Gunn.

He's a 4.

A low 4.

Honestly, there's nothing to say about Gunn except that he was apart of a lukewarm tag team (Smoking Gunns), the lowest denominator of NAO, and back to being the ASS of the WWE with a meh gimmick (Mr. Ass), along with one of the worst storylines/tag teams of all time (Billy and Chuck). Dude sort of redeemed himself when he went to Wrestle Kingdom though:ehh:.

Overall, Billy Gunn is an example of a close to average wrestler with luck on his side.

Lowkey, X-Pac should've won that basura ass '99 KOTR. :hhh:

But onto Billy, I gave him a 5 off of being in DX during the AE and for being surprisingly athletic despite being 6'4-6'5, 260 lbs.

That being said, stick X-Pac in billy's role in the NAO, and they're probably even more popular.

5. He actually wasn't a terrible wrestler, was a good athlete and had a nice moveset but he simply was missing the IT factor that could've propelled him to the upper echelon. He was mediocre on promos and couldn't talk ppl into the building. Road Dogg made the NAOs get over with his mic work which earned Billy cool points. He was the weakest link in DX, Mr Ass was a stupid gimmick looking back.

The One Billy Gunn sucked.
Billy and Chuck was cringeworthy

He's a 5. At any and every point in his career, you can replace him with someone else and get the same or better results. He was never the sole reason he was over.

He's the wrestling equivalent of the extra tools you get with Ikea furniture. You may use them or you may not, but you're never going to remember them a week later when you're actually using that shytty bookshelf. :heh:

Don't know if im still disguised at that KOTR 99 or not, but with that wonderful thing called hindsight. If you have to have Billy Gunn win the tournament, then he should of faced current/former DX members all the way thru.

03 maybe. He was athletic and competent at selling/timing, his offense looked good. His gimmick, or him probably being a goofy hick don't change that.

He's not a 7 in the ring at all. There is no justification for it. He's a very bland guy who hit his hot tag spots. His finisher sucks too.
