Ok... time to put this whole Ken Shamrock thing to rest.
Yes, Ken was one of the three men in 1998 Cokeboy hand picked to carry the WWF along with Austin. The other two being Mankind and the Rock.
He was primed to have the booster pack strapped to him after he destroyed Rocky at WM14 and later on went to defeat him for the King of the Ring title later on that year.
There was a problem, the audience wasn't warming up to him at all as opposed to the Rock who started getting face reactions after his blockbuster match with Triple H at SummerSlam. So they turned Kenny heel and put the rocket pack on the Rock which then catapulted him to the WWF Championship. Since then he stayed in mid card purgatory until he left the E.
IDK breh, hes always giving him props on his podcast. Shamrock was legit during 97 and 98 and it would have been a dream fued imo. Let's be honest Shamrock was never going to get pushed pass midcard after Bret wanted to drop the title to him and after Bret left dude had heat, If booked properly Austin would have def done the job. Shamrock talks about this on a Jim Ross podcast.
